Bill Kananack lived and worked in the Washington, DC, New York City, and Princeton, NJ, areas before moving to Melbourne, Florida in 1989.  He has been active in the community and involved in regular fund raising activities.  Bill has represented public corporations, privately held companies, universities and investors.  His clients are engaged in business transactions worldwide.  Bill is also the author or co-author of articles and has spoken on a variety of subjects including export regulations, government compliance, trademark law and international business transactions.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Bill is a seasoned corporate lawyer with more than 35 years in the private, corporate and government sectors.  Before entering into the private practice of law, Bill worked as a trial attorney for the Foreign Commerce Section of the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, DC.  He also served as Special Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Columbia. 

Bill entered the corporate sector as counsel for RCA Corporation and served as senior counsel for GE Company.  In each, Bill worked on a broad range of matters for business units across the corporation.  He was division counsel for Harris Corporation and general counsel for Reed Telepublishing, a multinational New York area-based corporation.  In all these positions, Bill regularly focused on general corporate, government and commercial matters, including employment, business negotiations and contracts, managing and protecting intellectual property, and the resolution of disputes and litigation.
